Compare Some Uncomparables
An elephant and a dog became pregnant at same time. Three months down the line the dog gave birth to six puppies. Six months later the dog was pregnant again, and nine months on it gave birth to another dozen puppies. The pattern continued.
On the eighteenth month the dog approached the elephant questioning, _”Are you sure that you are pregnant? We became pregnant on the same date, I have given birth three times to a dozen puppies and they are now grown to become big dogs, yet you are still pregnant. What’s going on?”
The elephant replied, “There is something I want you to understand. What I am carrying is not a puppy but an elephant. I only give birth to one in two years. When my baby hits the ground, the earth feels it. When my baby crosses the road, human beings stop and watch in admiration, what I carry draws attention. So what I’m carrying is mighty and great.”
Don’t lose faith when you see others receive answers to their prayers.
Don’t be envious of others testimony. If you haven’t received your own blessings, don’t despair.
Say to yourself “My time is coming, and when it hits the surface of the earth, people shall yield in admiration.!”
This traditional story has several moral values. When we start a new project, We have to streamline our actual needs and its release expectation.
Sometimes we have to stick with Elephant and sometimes with dog!
Yes, Of course, It may differ for case to cases.

When we’re confronted with a troublesome choice like above, Dog or Elephant method? We have to consider its depth analysis of “pros & cons” to reach a confident choice.
And it can be moved to a tabular weighted analysis with its values. Once we parse through these constrains and gains, We can opt the best marked path and decision has made !
For a case,
In a IT project for a banking applications, Continues releases (DevOps Strategy)may not be ensured for clients (as the developing system is highly concerned about the security)
However, An android mobile app for a trading system needs continues and fast deliverable.
A major venture is finalized and estimated for full discharge after 2 years by elephant. Whereas the Puppy company has agreed the release every two month in parts by parts. who is champ in this case?
In this case, i would say, It is not comparable! Contrasting a banking application or any high secured application with a trading android application is not genuine way..
Three observations : -
- Dogs live for 10–12 years whereas elephants live for 50–60 years.
- Both animals are among intelligent livings.
- We can bring a dog into a family room at home not an elephant.
Always see both side of the coin and select wisely based on your requirement metrics..
